Safe from the California fires

Not much news from the Eastern Counties open show – please let me know any major results (BP, BV, RBD, RBB) if you’d like to see them recorded here. Robin Searle (Surlson Borzois, Danes etc) took over the Pem judging and BOB and RBIS was Teresa Maddox’s Danish import Redfordhill Magic Moments to Salvenik (Dan Ch Mistycor Once Upon A Dream ex Dan Ch Vuedor Could It Be Magic). BOS and RBOB was Joanna Hayward’s Italian import Pemslife Live To Tell with Pemshore (Int/It Ch Pemcader High Flyer ex It Ch La Mia Alma for Pemslife). I’m sure you have all seen the news of the terrible fires in California, appalling enough for anyone in the affected areas but even worse if you keep animals. I’m sure all our good wishes go to Pembroke show and working enthusiast Vicki Northway (Drifan) who lost her house in the Paradise fire. Thankfully not only she but her dogs and other animals are safe. The Palmetto breed club held a double specialty with the first show judged by Paul Chen (Afara). His BOB was Bobbe Lord’s eight-year-old bitch GCh Aubrey’s Rollin On The River (GCh Heartsong Brynlea Pavarotti ex Ch Aubrey’s From This Moment) with BOS to Deborah Cox and Cheryl Owens’ Ch Triple H Bechanci Knight To Remember (Ch Calloway Memories Of Cinonnie ex Bechanci’s Stormi Knight). Our own Tracy Irving (Twinan/Highworth) made the decisions on the second day and BOB this time went to Dan Hartman, Debbie Royster and Judy Manley’s GChS Lionhart’s All About Harry (GCh Martindale Black Bart ex GCh Lionhart’s Cameo Appearance). BOS this time was Dede Rodgers and Mary Greenwood’s Ch Greenwoods Sparkling Diamond (Ch Greenwoods Midnight Flyer ex Ch Sandfox Greenwoods Chances Are). Hilary Wyer tells me that Sue Crowe (Crowlink) has donated a lovely prize for junior bitch in Pems at the South East Corgi Association championship show on February 9. She has also given a painting to be auctioned. The show is at Tadley (RG26 4HN) and judges are Dawn Woodey (Barawood) for Pems, Liz Cartledge (Ryslip) for Cardis, both with CCs, and Alison Benson (Corben) for BIS. SIMON PARSONS
