Group 2 for Lancelot

So sorry to hear of the death of Byron Thomas (Byking), such a nice man. He had not enjoyed good health for quite a number of years.

With his wife Jean he was for many years a keen exhibitor in South Wales and beyond. They made up two champions, both bred by Idris and Allan, the dog Ch Belroyd Thornbill and the bitch Ch Belroyd Cornflower (sister of Ch Cowslip).

Our sympathy goes to his family.

Poor Joy Whitehead has not been having the easiest time of it in recent months so it was good that she was able to judge the breed at Three Counties.

Dog CC was a second for Amanda Rees’ Stadwen Lancelot (Cordach Gatland ex Ch Stadwen Honey Bunn), who went on to BOB and then ended up group 2 under John Carter. Congratulations on the breed’s first placing in a main group at a ch show this year. This kennel now has three Pembrokes on two CCs apiece.

RDCC was Kim Warner’s tri Meitza Erik The King (one CC, Ch Pemcader Hunderball ex Meitza Goldust).

In bitches Teresa Maddox’s Salvenik Summer Rosebud (Redfordhill Magic Moments to Salvenik ex Ch Bertley Summer Rose with Salvenik) won her first CC after several reserves. It was another reserve for Barry and Sue Coulson’s bobtail Woodhenge Storm Princess (one CC, Thunderball ex Woodhenge Moon Maiden).

BP was Sue Harrison’s tri Haresfoot Danny Boy (Towernaglen Red Dragon with Ceranda ex Haresfoot Zena). The results don’t list a best veteran which seems strange as there were dogs present in both VD and VB.

Ryslip Hobnob was third in the PB stakes under Tom Mather.

Afterwards the Cambria breed club held its open show in the same ring, judged by Jeff Thomas (Richjoy Shetland Sheepdogs).

Making it an even better day for Teresa, the BCC’s sire Redfordhill Magic Moments to Salvenik (Dan Ch Mistycor Once Upon A Dream ex Dan Ch Vuedor Could It Be Magic) was BOB with BB to Lorraine Weedall and Nicola Bogue’s Jahnshaus Sunset Lady of Bronabay (Ch Bronabay Cannonball ex Jahnshaus Chaffinch).

The other main awards went to Tracy and Kath Irving, RBD with Orden Keltov Sprite Symphony (Ukr Ch Saphina Pastoral Symphony ex Ukr Ch Orden Keltov Honeymoon), RBB with Twinan Shake The Tree (Twinan Dip Yer Butty ex Twinan Just The Ticket) and BP with Twinan Sing My Own Song (Ch Born To Be Your Salt Dog at Twinan ex Highworth Suck It Up Butacup).

Nice to find a specialty result from Canada - news from breed club ch shows anywhere is always welcome! The Great Lakes club show was judged by Michael Canalizo (Grandeur Afghans) and it was a double for Kristen Frances and Anita Cameron when GCh Stonecroft’s Star Sighting (Am GCh Linincorgi’s Livin’ On A Prayer ex Ch Chetwynd Chasing Rainbows) was BOB and her son GCh Stonecroft’s Storm Surge (by Am GCh Rosewood Sea Quest) was BOS.

Good luck to everyone at the three Austrian shows. The EuroCorgi has drawn an excellent total of 144 Pems and 79 Cardis, with almost as many at the other two events. Looking forward to hearing the results.
