French success at Bath

For Bath it was their first ‘all-breed’ show on its immaculate show ground. I’m sure that for Corgi people the presence Stuart Magness, for so long associated with the running of this show, was very much missed.

John Essenhigh (Brynlluan Pems, Cardis and Labradors) was judging both Corgi breeds and BOB Pem with her fourth CC went to Nicki and Chris Blance, Bill Shelton and Beckie Williams’ tri Ch Penliath Sent To Coventry (Am Ch Ninacorte Chicago Hope ex Coventry Dancing With The Stars to Penliath). She’s the third of this litter to win a CC at the last two shows, and was shortlisted in the group by Mike Vines.

It was an exciting day for Barry and Sue Coulson who won a first CC for their junior French import Oye-Dragoon-Willow des Contamines at Woodhenge, co-owned with breeders Elisabeth Camboni and Katell Malagré. He is by Int/Fr/Port Ch Lawrence Of Arabia des Contamines (Ch/Int Ch Dragonjoy Sonny Corleone ex Int Ch Gwyneth Paltrow des Contamines, sister of Georges Clooney) ex Fr Ch Legend Of Dragoon Rose des Contamines, a granddaughter of Belroyd Raspberry Sauce for Salvenik and Int Ch Brynelli Fly In Style.

Barry and Sue also took RBCC for the second week with their bobtail Woodhenge Storm Princess (one CC, Ch Pemcader Thunderball ex Woodhnge Moon Maiden).

Reserve in dogs was Amanda Rees’ Stadwen Lancelot (one CC, Cordach Gatland ex Ch Stadwen Honey Bunn). BP was Sue Harrison’s bobtail tri Haresfoot Danny Boy (Towernaglen Red Dragon with Ceranda ex Haresfoot Zena) and BV Mary Davies’ Ch/Rus/Ukr Ch Ermyn Snow Knight (Ch/Am Ch Rosewood Set Sail to Salvenik ex Wharrytons Pansy Potter at Ermyn) who was also second in the veteran stakes under Pam Blay.

Well done to Kerry Frosdick on making up her first ever champion in the Cardi ring, Elmsmere Co Star for Kalwig, bred by Ros and Barry Gardiner. I wish we could persuade Kerry to do some online breed notes for Cardis - she wrote some very interesting notes back in the Dog World days.

Elisabeth and Katell have been enjoying a good run as they took BIS at there French Club’s national under Anne Socolovert with their Australian-bred tri Aberlee Follow That Dream, whom you may have seen at the League show a few weeks ago. He is a son of Gwyneth Paltrow by Aus Sup Ch Aberlee Take It To The Limit. BOS was Béatrice Quinio’s Shamquin Njoy The Lil Things (Triad Dressed For Success ex Fr/Fin Ch Shamquin I’ve Got An Angel).

The Swedish specialty was judged by Astrid Lundava (Asterland, Estonia). BOB was Emindos Lowrider Dorina (Sw Ch Dorogoe Udovolstvie Leadville Hot C ex Emindos Lowrider Abigail). BOS was Sw/Norw Ch Siggen’s Zeppelin (Int Ch Nebriowa Cole Haan ex Nord Ch Siggen’s Sweet Sensation).
