Don't forget your EuroCorgi entries

We are in a couple of weeks’ respite from the relentless round of shows with CCs on offer. Border Union kindly schedule classes without CCs, and we had a specialist judge in Lisa Franchi (Saniaquinto).

BOB was Julia Alexander and Mary Davies’ Ermyn Knight Of The Realm (Ch/Rus/Ukr Ch Ermyn Sow Knight ex Brisam Ferrari) with BB to Elizabeth Cuthbert’s Salvenik Star Magic with Triella (Redfordhill Magic Moments to Salvenik ex Salvenik Star Drop).

Reserves were Annie McLean’s Pemcader Perry Mason of Tucana (Ch Pemcader Belroyd Zeus ex Pemcader Black Glamour) and John and Caroline Stewart’s Blazerae Royal Legacy (Light Up My World ex Blazerae Royal Intrigue), and they also took BP with Blazerae Eternally Mine (Ir Ch Chawton Dream Maker ex Blazerae Royal Allure).

Well done to Peter Clifton on winning yet another group with Blobby the Cardi.

Kevin Dover (Pemcader) was over in the US judging the Mayflower specialty near Boston. Veteran bitches have won a high proportion of the specialties in recent years and here it was Deb Shindle and Victor Malzoni’s eight-year-old GChP Riverside Get Over It (Ch/Aus/NZ Ch Aberlee Phantom Sequqnce ex GCh Riverside Wicked Wonderful).. On the way home to Florida Deb won a Cardi specialty with another veteran bitch!.

BOS was Sharon Lofley’s seven-year-old GCh Eweknow Hearts Run Free (Ch Greenwoods Fame And Fortune ex Ch Brynlea Teeny Weenie Bikini).

Don’t forget your entries for the first ever EuroCorgi show to be held in the UK. This is an extra one-time set of CCs for both breeds, so let’s make this unique occasion something special. It would be great to see a large entry of Corgis from Europe and beyond.

Schedules can be found on Fosse Data. Briefly dogs of both breeds will be judged on Saturday July 28 and bitches on the Sunday. Vetnue is the Holiday Inn, Rugby, which is easily accessible just off junction 18 of the M1.

Judging Pems for the first time in the UK will be Vicki Sandage. Vicki, a veterinary surgeon, is a successful and influential breeder in the US under her Sandfox affix.

Cardi judge is British breed doyen Peter Clifton (Joseter). BIS and junior handling will be judged by Carole Smedley (Antoc Cardis) and the special award classes by Sue Hadley of the Bethwyn Cardis in Australia.

Postal entries close on Monday July 2 and online entries on Monday July 9.
