Corgi walk in Wales

Thanks to Barry Coulson for news from the Welsh Corgi Club open show which was judged by Dave Weller (Evad Shelties, Rough Collies and Briards). BOB was Amanda Rees’ Stadwen Lancelot (Cordach Gatland ex Ch Stadwen Honey Bunn) with RBD to Kim Warner’s tri Meitza Erik The King (Ch Pemcader Thunderball ex Meitza Goldust). BB was Mary Davies’ tri Ermyn Chasing Rainbows (Ch/Rus/Ukr Ch Ermyn Snow Knight ex Brisam Ferrari) and RBB and BV Carole Turner’s Cottonfields Hecate (Ch Pemcader Belroyd Zeus ex Powdermill Magic Gold for Cottonfields). BP was Barry and Sue Coulson, Elisabeth Camboni and Katell Malagré’s Oye-Dragon-Willow des Contamines at Woodhenge (Int/Fr/Port Ch Lawrence Of Arabia des Contamines ex Fr Ch Legend Of Dragoon Rose des Contamines) and BPB Teresa Maddox’s Salvenik Scarlet Rose (Redfordhill Magic Moments to Salvenik ex Bertley Autumnal Rose with Salvenik). In the League handbook I will be compiling an article on the Blands Pems and their brilliant breeder, the late Peggy Gamble. I know Peggy acted as friend and mentor to many of you so I wondered if any of you who knew her would like to send me no more than 150 words on what you feel she and her dogs contributed to the breed. Mari Carroll (Brogan, US) judged the Welsh Shepherd specialty in Moscow and BIS was Andvol Evrika (Hazelmere Bound For Glory ex Andvol Berberi) who went on to BIS under Mari and our own Thelma Taylor (Tamlin) who did the Cardis. There will be a Corgi walk on Sunday Dec 9 at the beach at Llansteffan, west of Carmarthen, at 11am, followed, if you wish, by lunch at the Inn at the Sticks, SA33 5JG at 1pm. Please contact Laura Morgan or Suzanna van Eeghan by Saturday Dec 1 if you would like to book lunch. SIMON PARSONS
