Clubs talk about amalgamation

At the Scottish Kennel Club Ena Ellwood (Ellhar) gave two Pems their second CC, both born within a few days of each other in 2012. DCC was Elizabeth Cuthbert’s Salvenik Share The Wish with Triella (Ch/Am Ch Rosewood Set Sail to Salvenik ex Salvenik Star Performer). He is litter brother to CC winner S Super Duper Star and younger brother of Ch S Set To Star and Ch S Swing On A Star at Corgwood). BOB went to Linda and Willie Preston’s Craigycor Campsie Princess (Ch/Ir Ch Whitepoint Dream Weaver at Craigycor ex Ch/Ir/Int Ch Craigycor Viva La Diva). She is litter sister to Ch C Lightning Bolt. The DCC’s breeder, Teresa Maddox, won the reserve with Redfordhill Magic Moments to Salvenik (Dan Ch Mistycor Once Upon a Dream ex Dan Ch Vuedor Could It Be Magic) and BP with his daughter Salvenik Scarlet Rose (ex Bertley Autumnal Rose with Salvenik). RBCC was a first green card for Lisa and Maria Franchi’s tri Ermyn Midnight Flyer at Saniaquinto (Hillberry Love Spoon at Whitepoint ex Ermyn She’s A Diamond) and they also took BV with Whitebarn Samuel Whiskers at Saniaquinto (also by Set Sail, ex Oakcap Sassy Sophia of Whitebarn). I see a meeting is being held at Polesworth on Sept 9 to discuss a possible amalgamation between the Midland and Eastern Counties clubs. Let’s hope as many members as possible of both clubs attend. Personally I’ve thought this has to be the way forward considering how many Corgi clubs there are compared with the number of enthusiasts today, but I’m sure you all have your own views. A reminder from Carole Turner that entries for the West of England ch show close on Sept 8 (postal) and Sept 15 (online). What a comprehensive critique Vicki Sandage (and indeed the other judges) provided for EuroCorgi, and so promptly too. Sure we will have some discussion points from this. It’s specialty time around the world and in the US Patty Gailey (Triad), who had won a specialty the previous week, was officiating at the Rockies club. BOB was Mary Rogers, DeDe Rodgers and Mary Greenwood’s Ch Greenwoods Livin’ It Up (GCh Linincorgi’s Livin’ On A Prayer ex Ch Greenwoods Midnight Melody) and BOS Lyn Johnson and Marian Your’s Ch Tri-Umph Tabledancer (GCh Eweknow Hearts Run Free ex GCh Tri-Umph Tiger Lily) who also has several working qualifications. The following weekend at the Western Reserve club, Yolanda Lininger (Linincorgi) was judging and it was another BOB for DeDe and Mary, this time with Ch Greenwoods Sparkling Diamond (Ch Greenwoods Midnight Flyer ex Ch Sandfox Greenwoods Chances Are). BOS was Bonnie Foster, Vicki Sandage and Brenda Stiles’ Ch Brynlea Sandfox Shadowdancer (GCh Sandfox Cadenza ex Ch Brynlea Teeny Weeny Bikini), another with lots of letters after the name denoting performance qualifications. Meanwhile in Ireland the club show was judged by Sandra Muckle (Gowerston) and Alan and Sarah Matthews did the double with littermates Ch Craigycor Viva Las Vegas and Ch Craigycor Dynamo (Lightning Bolt ex Craigycor Bety Boop). The dog was BOB and the same day won the group at Clonmel under Joan Hutton. In Estonia the specialty judge was Cindy Savioli (Aubrey, US) and BOB was Ramute Masiokaite’s Int Ch Je Suis Kylie Minogue des Contamines (Ch Dwynella Rough N’Rowdy ex Ch Gwyneth Paltrow des Contamines).
